Fürstin-Gina-Weg
Ridge trail from Malbun to the Pfälzerhütte
Take the chairlift to the Sareiserjoch and follow the ridge, with the Rhine on one side and Austria on the other.

In 60 seconds
Liechtenstein is more mountain than valley, and the road up from Vaduz shows it fast. Triesenberg spreads across a steep slope above the Rhine, a village founded by Walser settlers from the Valais in the Middle Ages, who kept their own dialect and wooden houses; a small museum tells their story. Through a tunnel lies the Saminatal and, at the head of the road, Malbun: a cluster of chalets at about 1,600 metres, a gentle ski resort for families in winter and the start of the country's best walks in summer. The Fürstin-Gina-Weg follows the ridge above the valley to the Pfälzerhütte on the Austrian border, and Steg, below, is laid out for cross-country skiing. Easy to combine with Vaduz.
