Keukenhof Gardens
World-renowned 32-hectare botanical park displaying 7 million spring bulbs
Wander through breathtaking swathes of rare tulip varieties, scented hyacinths and pavilion flower shows designed with artistic flair.

In 60 seconds
The Bollenstreek (Bulb District), stretching behind the coastal dunes between Haarlem and Leiden, is the floral heart of the Netherlands. For eight short weeks each spring, from late March to mid-May, the landscape explodes into brilliant geometric ribbons of scarlet, amber, violet and gold. At the centre of it all in Lisse lies Keukenhof, celebrated as the 'Garden of Europe'. Spanning 32 hectares of English landscape gardens, beech woods and winding waterways, Keukenhof sees seven million flower bulbs planted entirely by hand each autumn. Beyond the manicured park gates, quiet cycling paths thread through miles of open, scented commercial daffodil, hyacinth and tulip fields against a backdrop of historic windmills and coastal sand ridges.
