Douro Valley in 60 seconds

The Alto Douro is the world's oldest demarcated wine region, where centuries of vintners have hand-carved thousands of schist stone terraces into near-vertical river canyons. Centred on Peso da Régua and Pinhão, this dramatic UNESCO landscape yields legendary vintage ports and celebrated Douro DOC table wines, best appreciated by cruising along the river, riding the scenic Linha do Douro railway, and lodging at family-run wine quintas.
