Aphrodite Trail
Loop through the Akamas hills above the sea
Start early and carry water; the reward is the peninsula's broad coastal view.

In 60 seconds
The Akamas Peninsula is the island's rougher western edge, with scrubland paths, gorges and sea coves beyond the resort corridors. Polis and nearby Latchi make practical bases without swallowing the landscape. Walk one of the marked trails early, take a boat only with a responsible operator, and keep Lara Beach's turtle nesting areas undisturbed. Roads and tracks can be rough; this is a place to plan a route, carry water and leave time for slow travel.

Clear-water inlet reached by boat or difficult track
Choose a small responsible boat trip rather than treating the fragile shore as a road stop.
Small town and fishing harbour at the peninsula's edge
A calm base for food and supplies before the wild coast.
Beyond the obvious
Less obvious, rarely queued for, and usually the part people remember.
Narrow limestone gorge south of the peninsula
Check conditions before walking; rain and falling rock can make the route unsafe.
Protected turtle nesting shore
Respect seasonal protection and stay clear of marked nests.
